Memurubu - Bukkelægret - Gjendebu

Route info

Description

You start this lovely route from Memurubu or from Gjendebu. When you begin in Memurubu you must face the 1300 metres high Sjugurdtind first. This hill will give some lactid acid in your legs but then the route will become flat the next 5 kilometer.

Now it's time for the very steep hillside. In some passages chains have been put up so you can be safer. During the entire hike you can't miss the marvellous view over the lake Gjende. If it's raining we don't recommend this route because it could be very slippery in Bukkelägret.

When you are done with the steep an easy walk along Gjende is waiting for you. If you study Bukkelägret from the lake you can't actually see that it is possibly to walk in that steep hillside.

Hiking time

5 hours

Worth to know

Between Sjugurdtind and Bukkelägret it's possible to put up a tent.

You can send your pack back with the ferry. On this route it's a good thing to walk with a smaller back pack.
