1997-07-26 - Caihnavaggi - Ivarsten
The weather was as usual so we couldn't complain at all. We took off 10.45 and it was steep in the beginning up the glacier. There were lots of reindeers. The first hours we had to face a snow covered surface.

When the path cross was sighted we stopped for lunch and met father and son. They were experienced hikers and we got some useful tip from them. We then left the boys behind us and walked against Gautelis. We heard that there was thunder near Kungsleden. The terrain to Gautelis was nice with small hills. Just before the cottage at Gautelis we had a break and studied the outlook.

Our next stop was Ivarsten which was surrounded with lakes. Magnus felt down in every creek. Before we crossed the borderline to Sweden we put up the tent and took a really cold bath in the ice-cold lake. There were nice grass areas but the mosquitoes were terrible.

Best to take some pictures. You never know if there will be any more reindeers.
